Strong Women in Video Games: Q&A

Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening, wherever you are in the world. Welcome to our next post from our Month of Strong Women in Video Games, this time around we have held a Q&A with @Gwyn_VP. Scroll down below to see the interview, and also her 5 favourite photos featuring Strong Women in Video Games.
@VPGamers: Who is your favourite heroine in video games, and why?
It’s hard to choose one – luckily, we have so many awesome heroines in video games in 2022. My gaming journey started around 20 years ago when times were different. That’s why Lara Croft will probably always have a special place in my heart. Seeing a strong female lead was great for 9-year-old-me. Although I was pretty scared from leaving Croft Manor and preferred to just lock Winston in the freezer 😀 Ever since then, I followed Lara through all of her adventures.
VPGamers: How did you get into VP and why do you enjoy it?
I’ve always been taking a lot of pictures in video games, but I wasn’t aware that there was this whole amazing community on Twitter until recently. It is so much fun that I can finally share all of my shots and to see all this amazing work from other people out there 🙂
VPGamers: Can you give any advice for anyone who wants to start VP?
Just start and have fun. Don’t stress yourself. 😀 Take shots of what looks great in your eyes, experiment with angles and photo-mode options. If you need any help you can always ask on Twitter!
VPGamers: Do likes, comments and retweets matter to you as an artist?
Honestly, they do in some ways. They don’t influence my fun in taking my pictures but it is just a really great feeling to see that other people that like what I do. 🙂 It’s really motivating.
VPGamers: How is it being a female in the VP community, do you feel that everyone is treated with respect no matter what their background is?
Yes, I think the VP community is amazing. So far, all my experiences have been nothing but positive and I haven’t witness anything disrespectful. They are so sweet and supportive. 😀 I’m really happy I found this community and that can be a part of it!
We would love to thank our third guest, @Gwyn_VP, for taking part in our Special Q&A session featuring ‘Strong Women in Video Games’. We still have one more VP artist next week, then at the end of the month we will be showcasing a female VP artist in our Artist Recognition post! So stay tuned for that!
